Naive teachers soon learn education isn't really about the kids but instead is about pleasing administration no matter how demented those administrators are. They suddenly feel "less engaged" in their jobs, according to this poll.
When you feel completely overwhelmed with work and completely unappreciated, you end up going through the motions.
This poll only shows how much working conditions for teachers have deteriorated over the past few years.
